OBOS Suicide Prevention Center

“We help create a world where everyone deserves a chance to live, to heal, and to hope.”

The OBOS Suicide Prevention Center is the only Catholic organization to offer highly specialized support in suicide prevention. Operating upon Catholic faith and love, the center provides a wide range of programs, including public awareness campaigns, suicide prevention education, and support programs for loss survivors.

“Every struggle is different. Every struggle is hard. Your words of compassion can save a life.”

In his encyclical letter Fratelli Tutti(All brothers), Pope Francis highlights that a critical criterion for Christian authenticity is the attention to people in need. “No one can face life in isolation… We need a community that supports and helps us, in which we can help one another to keep looking ahead.” Look around. Reach out. Ask. Listen. Someone who is struggling, even those at the very edge, is still desperately looking for help. That is why we need active intervention.
