Accountability Assessment

OBOS's accountability for transparent management is assessed and managed through five areas: governance, financial transparency, transparent disclosure of business strategies and results, employee conduct ethics, and personal data protection.
In addition to internal assessments and management, external evaluations are regularly conducted through self-assessments by KCOC (Korea NGO Council for Overseas Development Cooperation) and public interest organization evaluations by Korea GuideStar. Supporters can access the publicly available evaluation materials.

  • 1. Governance

The organization monitors and implements its operational policies through decision-making bodies, ensuring adherence to basic labor rights and respect for diversity in the workplace. Additionally, welfare policies are guaranteed to support work-life balance, and employment rules and benefits are established and modified through worker councils.

  • 2. Financial Transparency (Transparent External Audits and Public Disclosure)

We undergo professional annual audits by a reputable external accounting firm. Furthermore, in compliance with public interest corporation accounting standards, we disclose our financial information annually through the National Tax Service's "Public Interest Corporation Settlement Document Disclosure System."

  • 3. Transparent Disclosure of Business Strategies and Results

We strive to manage and execute donations transparently and honestly in accordance with the "Act on the Collection and Use of Donations." Additionally, our website provides access to audit reports, financial reports, business reports, and board meeting minutes, allowing anyone to review our business activities.

  • 4. Employee Conduct Ethics

In line with our code of ethics, we respect stakeholders and are dedicated to social integration. All organizational activities are conducted based on ethical values and in accordance with decision-making bodies and regulations. We maintain fairness by preserving our independence from political, economic, and interest groups based on solidarity.

  • 5. Personal Data Protection

We value the personal information of all internal and external stakeholders (donors, employees, volunteers, business partners, etc.) and make every effort to protect the data provided to us. We adhere to relevant personal data protection regulations and guidelines, including the Act on the Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection and the Personal Information Protection Act.

  • Donor Information

We manage donor information through our Member Relationship Management (MRM) program. By analyzing donation history and amounts, we provide enhanced member services and ensure stable information management through various statistical and analytical processes.

  • Personal Data from Fundraising and Campaigns

Personal information collected from donors and participants in campaigns or educational events is used solely for its intended purpose. We prohibit any use beyond this scope and implement measures to prevent loss, theft, leakage, tampering, damage, or misuse of personal data.

  • Personal Data in Domestic and International Projects

The handling of personal data for domestic and international project partners, beneficiaries, volunteers, visitors, and stakeholders is compliant with the Personal Information Protection Act. We manage this data systematically to prevent loss, theft, leakage, tampering, damage, or misuse.

  • Recruitment and Employee-Related Personal Data

Personal data related to recruitment and employee information is managed in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act. We ensure that such data is systematically protected against loss, theft, leakage, tampering, damage, or misuse.
