Overview

A journey towards Our Common Home,
a world where all global citizens live in harmony

Today, however, we have to realize that a true ecological approach always becomes a social approach; it must integrate questions of justice in debates on the environment, so as to hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor. (Clause 49, ENCYCLICAL LETTER LAUDATO SI’ OF THE HOLY FATHER FRANCIS)

We take care of Our Common Home, the earth. We deliver God’s love of living together to poor and isolated neighbors who share this home. All humankind is one sibling and one family. We ask you to become the hope to people around the globe who suffer from famine and disease. Our dream to share, save lives, and create a peaceful world will make the changes happen.

One Body One Spirit (OBOS), since its establishment in 1988, has been working with the world’s poorest people to build the Common Home we all dream of through more than 600 projects in about 70 countries.

Vision

Per the spirit of the Eucharist, work to make a righteous and peaceful world so everyone can break away from poverty and live a humane life.

Mission

  • For the better life of the most impoverished neighbors worldwide, work with local organizations to overcome their difficulties and plan for sustainable development (growth).

  • Take an interest in what is happening in the Earth, Our Common Home. Then, think and act to resolve any issues.

  • Through the cooperation with organizations sharing a common vision, based on the principles of solidarity and subsidiarity (social assistance), advocate the voices of the poor and join themtogether.
